Erasmus + project
Do, Develop, Donate/ 3D
2020 – 2022
Agreement No.2020-1-LV01-KA229-077483_1
About the Project
Today’s school graduates must be able to adapt to ongoing change in many aspects of their lives. For most young people career-life planning will not be a matter of making one major decision and living with it for a lifetime. The educators should accept this situation. Their key question “What do you want to be in your future life?” should be replaced by the other one “What skills and competences do you need to be competitive in the labour market in the definite area of your interests?”. If students leave school being unaware of their skills and unaware of their competences that our century looks for, they will be unprepared for the challenges of society and workforce. This challenging present situation at 6 project partner schools united them in working on the idea of the project – how can we organize the education process at school
effectively and help young people to improve their skills and competences for their further working pathway.
Goals
The main objective of the project was set to find the ways and opportunities how to develop students’ skills and competences for their further work pathway by using offered possibilities of the local communes.
It includes:
– to evaluate their own strength and build on their own areas of development,
– to see opportunities in the labour market and find the attributes and skills needed to take advantage of them,
– to understand and develop the skills and competences that are required to be successful in their future pathway not only in their own country but also in EU,
– to improve their foreign language skills and develop their critical thinking by gaining knowledge of using wide range of information sources, advice and guidance that are suitable for their personal needs.
working procedure
All project activities are worked out to lead to the achievements of the project’s objectives. Our project, which will run for two years, are split into 6 models:
1. each school will make a summary about its experience in career education and share it with the project partners;
2. working on the survey about the skills needed in the 21st century;
3. working on the surveys about the local job market;
4. working on the case studies about the inheritance industries;
5. working on the surveys about volunteer work finding what skills could be developed by doing it;
6. working on the survey about possibilities of foreign students studying in the project partners countries.
We feel that dividing the main aim of the project into six topics give the project a clear and well defined frame which will help us structure our activities well and allow for the pupils with different interests get the most of the project.
EXPECTED RESULTS
The project will have a number of tangible and intangible results.
The concrete results will be:
– the survey about the skills needed to be competitive in a job market in the 21st century;
– the interviews with the local entrepreneurs, the survey about the required skills and competences for employees and employers;
– the cases studies about the inherited family industries/professions;
– the set of good examples of volunteer work and skills developed;
– the booklet about possibilities to study abroad;
– the students’ project portfolio with their self-evaluation and professional interests.
Besides tangible results the project will create deep and lifelog lasting impacts on everyone involved. Pupils and teachers will learn how to respect differences, broaden their knowledge by working with their international peers in a collaborative way and by sharing experiences and customs. They will also
learn innovative ways of acquiring knowledge and develop linguistic and IT skills.
